LSRI will host an afternoon “Rise Up, Sing Out!” event at Lakenenland on Sun., June 14 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Authoritarians want fear, silence, and isolation. We choose joy. We choose community. We choose people power. Rise Up, Sing Out is about reclaiming patriotism as something inclusive, participatory, and rooted in care for one another — not power, pageantry, or one person’s spotlight.

On Sunday, June 14, The Committee for the First Amendment is hosting a live concert to celebrate the First Amendment—and we encourage you to gather together in person, sing along, and celebrate with us as we all commit to taking action to protect our rights and freedoms.

The show starts at 7:30 PM Eastern Time. Here are some of the headline performers:

People have been asking:

Q: “Is Rise Up, Sing Out” actually No Kings 4?”
A: NO. “Rise Up, Sing Out” is not a mass protest/mobilization event. It is not NK4, although the confusion is understandable. The first No Kings Day event was on June 14th last year, and we all remember what an inspiring event that was. This year’s Flag Day celebration is instead dedicated to building community, trust and solidarity on a smaller scale. And having a lot of fun in the process. We all need this. Q: “WILL there be a No Kings 4 national mobilization this summer?”
A: YES! There WILL be a No Kings 4! The leaders of Indivisible national, No Kings and the many other partner organizations have confirmed this. The dates and times are still being worked out. A mobilization of this size requires a huge amount of time and energy. It’s important that NK4 adds to, and does not detract from, crucial election-related planning and work being done in advance of the midterms. Very careful consideration is being given to choosing the right date.
