Questions or problems with voting? Call 866-OUR-VOTE (687-8683) or email (questions@MichiganVoting.org)

Just as important as exercising your right to vote is understanding how elections in Michigan work. In Michigan, local clerks run elections, and they have careful procedures for verifying and counting ballots.
Disinformation and misinformation about election security are widespread, leading voters to unnecessarily question the validity of U.S. elections. Voter fraud in U.S. elections is extremely uncommon and has no major impact on election outcomes. If you have questions about or problems voting, you can call 866-OUR-VOTE (687-8683) or email (questions@MichiganVoting.org). To become directly involved with fighting misinformation, you can join Voters Not Politicians (email nicholas@votersnotpoliticians.org) and help work at debunking tables and spread information about harmful potential ballot proposals (Americans for Citizen Voting).
If you’re interested in ensuring your local elections are supported and secure, there are a variety of ways to become involved. You can become a poll worker, a poll watcher, or an election challenger (what a poll watcher or an election challenger does). You can join Promote the Vote to help monitor the election process at an early voting site, polling place, absentee voter counting board, or county canvass. Your involvement will help ensure that all eligible voters can cast a ballot and the post-election canvass proceeds smoothly. To become involved, please visit Promote the Vote or email sarah@promotethevotemi.com.
In addition to volunteering on election day, there are a variety of pro-democracy initiatives you can become involved in. While the right to vote is a fundamental right for all U.S. citizens, many people fail to vote in local and national elections. Being encouraged by your friends and neighbors to vote is twice as effective as hearing it from a stranger, which is why Indivisible created the Neighbor to Neighbor program. You can use this form to become an advocate for the Neighbor to Neighbor program. Indivisible’s Election Defense Corps is a grassroots network dedicated to ensuring that every voter has an equal chance to cast a ballot and have their vote fairly counted. In the 2026 election, the votes cast in Michigan will have a significant impact on the nation’s future. The Indivisible Battlegrounds Action Toolkit has information and actions you can become involved in. If you are interested in ensuring that all legal voters can cast their ballots and have them properly counted, you can join the Lake Superior Region Indivisible Election Support Team by emailing lsrindivisible@gmail.com and putting “Election Support Team” in the subject line. The future of our nation is in your hands – now is the time to take action and ensure that democracy stands strong.
